Technological improvement in club heads, shafts & even grips and the marketing campaigns by the major manufacturers have us in the mood to upgrade our clubs every couple of years. Given the prices of name brand clubs it is difficult, if not impossible, for an ordinary duffer to keep up with the changes. Most of us are playing with a set that we’ve had for some time.

This is reality. Golf is not an inexpensive pastime. As a result, the average player is often suffering with inferior technology placing them at a disadvantage against others whose equipment is more up to date.

Here is the secret your golf ball already knows. The ball does not care what brand name golf clubs were used during the round or how much they cost. The ball knows the brief moment it spends in contact with the clubface determines the outcome of the shot. The technology in the club helps to make that shot the best it can be, not the brand name on the club. The club does make a difference everything else being the same.

Dooley Duffer, my constant friend and playing partner, found the perfect solution to the problem a couple years back. Dooley found a place online that manufacturers custom fitted golf clubs similar to the name brand clubs in quality and technology but at nearly one-third the price. The combination of low prices and superior quality made it possible for Dooley to replace his old set of store bought off-the-shelf clubs.

The best part about the whole experience was not the price though. The real benefit came from having those clubs custom fitted to Dooley’s specifications. This website has a special proprietary system that asks you for some easy to take measurements and then makes the proper club recommendations. Now Dooley no longer had to make set-up and swing adjustments to compensate for the poorly fitted store bought clubs but rather more appropriately he had clubs that were adjusted for him. That makes all the difference in building a repeatable swing.

I noticed that Dooley’s ball flight was higher and about a club longer than with his old set. He was now able to hit and hold more greens than before and you know that his scores dropped as a result. Dooley is very pleased of course. And now that a couple of years have passed he has his eye on a new set. He says he wants the technology upgrade but he has second thoughts because he likes his current set so well. Point is that he could upgrade his iron set for a few hundred dollars rather that the $800 or more for name brand unfitted clubs. Now he has the option to choose.

The average duffer would benefit from switching to custom fitted golf clubs just as Dooley did. They are easier and more comfortable to swing properly making the game easier to play and a whole lot more fun. Clone golf clubs are similar in technology and performance to name brands at much less the cost. Custom fitted clone golf clubs are the perfect answer for the average golfer who is on a budget.

Would you play better golf with a newer custom fitted set of clubs? Most likely you would. As you know, the golf ball doesn’t care about anything but that split second when it comes into contact with the clubface. Maybe you shouldn’t either.

If you are unfamiliar with basic concepts, the first thing you need to know to be the main goal of the game: you have to hit the ball on the tee at the beginning or in the hole for each section in the course of 18 sections or 18 holes.

The hole is in the green, which is a short piece of grass and well maintained. Once you are in the green, you need to use his putter, which is the club that has a slab, as an end, rather than their normal other clubs.

Each hole has a number of objectives set shots from the tee to the hole. This is called the pair. For example, if you are on a par 5 hole, would have to get the ball from the tee to the hole in five shots or fewer. If you were able to do exactly the specified number of shots, then its rating would be at par. If he did in a less than par, his score would be a birdie. If it did in the two less than par, his score would be an eagle. Three under par is called an albatross and the best score would be a hole in one, what happens if you were able to get the ball from the tee for hole in one stroke.

On the other hand, scored a couple more after that would be a ghost. Two more than the pair would be a double Bogey. If you have tried for more than 12 shots, then lost the hole. You would then have to move to the next hole.

Eventually, as we go through the game, there will be various hazards that would be addressed. If your ball lands in the rough, which is an area in which the course has long grass, you might have trouble moving from the area. There could also be of some trees in the rough course, which could make them more difficult to leave. The worst danger would be from lakes and ponds, because if you hit the ball into one, it would cost you took the shot and another shot as a penalty, which would make it more difficult to reach the pair.

The overall objective is to get your ball into the hole in as few shots as possible. Most beginners struggle the most putting on the green. They will take 2 shots to make the green, then 3 putts to make it in the hole, which can destroy your score. This is why beginners should focus on putting more than anything else.

With the weather turning colder as winter sets in many of us will have limited golfing opportunities. In the coldest climates courses close and as for the rest of the country, well you have to be especially dedicated to play in the cold conditions. Just because we can’t get to the course or the range doesn’t mean we have to forget about golf or our efforts to improve our game. We should take this time to work on improving our swing, putting stroke and our bodies.

The most overlooked item from the list above is our bodies. The more physically fit we are the better it is for our golf game. Strength, stamina, flexibility and mental toughness are all important benefits gained from becoming more physically fit. Now no one said this was the most fun aspect of golf or that we needed to go to Tiger like extremes. Applying yourself to a routine of golf oriented stretches will yield a noticeable benefit by the time warmer weather returns to your area.

The key with any stretching program is consistency. Choose a routine that you can and will utilize daily. Even a little time invested daily will be of great value to your goal. We all want a consistent golf swing. It is something we yearn for every time we hit an errant shot, but here is the cold hard fact, the truth that many don’t want to hear. The reason we are inconsistent on the course is because our bodies are unable to execute our golf swing 80 to 100+ times a round. Late in the round we are just not up to the task, but that does not have to be the case.

Just the least amount of golf oriented stretching will make a noticeable difference to your shot making. You will see more successful shots per round, improved scoring and lower handicap just a few weeks into your stretching program. Let me emphasize this again. If you will be consistent with a golf oriented stretching program your swing will become more consistent. And that folks is just what we are all seeking as we work to improve our golf swings.

I saw all this happen first hand when my golfing partner and friend, Dooley Duffer began his program late last fall. He had noticed the signs of late round fatigue and decided to do something about it. He said it was about time he did something for his health anyway and if it would help his golf swing, well, all the better.

Dooley found help from a golf fitness guide he found on line. He began working on a few stretches and stayed with it all winter long. As time went by he started playing better and feeling stronger in the later stages of the round. He attributes his 10 minute morning stretches to his improved performance on the course. Dooley says he can feel improved strength in his legs and abdominal muscles. All key elements to producing a sound golf swing.

Why not try a stretching program of your own? Wouldn’t you benefit from a stronger more flexible body? Would more stamina at the end of a round help you score better? Burning a few extra calories each day would be a good thing for most of us too. Add in some off-season swing instruction and indoor putting practice and your winter time golf improvement program will be all set.

Learn how golf fitness exercises can benefit the woman golfer. Lowering golf scores and making the game more enjoyable.

It is well known in professional golf how integral golf fitness exercises are for success at the highest level of golf Men on the PGA Tour and women on the LPGA Tour understand the benefits of golf fitness exercises in achieving success.

Outside the circles of professional golf many questions exist about golf fitness exercises. Questions such as; what are the best exercises to improve golf fitness levels, are flexibility exercises and stretches better than other forms of golf fitness exercises, and what are the benefits of golf fitness exercises for the woman golfer?

These and many questions surround the topic of golf fitness. This article is to provide some answers for you on the topic of golf fitness exercises for woman.

It has been well documented in magazines and television how LPGA women such as Annika Sorenstam utilize golf fitness programs to benefit their play on the golf course. Is there a difference between the LPGA player and the amateur woman golfer in relation to golf fitness training? The answer is no. Yes, the women on the LPGA Tour are the best women golfers in the world, but the physiology of the LPGA player and amateur are the same.

The skeletal, muscular, and neural systems are the same. The professional golfer has the same number of muscles in their bodies as the amateur. The woman’s professional golfer has the same skeletal structure as the female amateur, and nervous system as well. Granted the LPGA player has more refined and efficient swing mechanics, but the body is the same.

As a result of the body being the same, the principles and structure of a golf fitness program for any woman is similar. Before discussing the specifics of a golf fitness program for women it is necessary to understand a few important principles.

The first principle to understand about a golf fitness program is sports specific. Sports specific is a term describing the type of training utilized in a golf fitness program. Sport specific training simply states the program utilized by the woman athlete is geared towards improving them in their chosen sport.

A second principle closely related to sports specific training is cross specificity training. Cross specificity training is the utilization of exercises to develop the woman golfer in the positions, movements, and actions incorporated in the golf swing.

The goal of cross specificity training is a transfer of training effect to the field of competition. Simply stated, a transfer of training effect is the ability of exercises utilized to train the female golfer having a direct benefit on their performance during a round of golf.

For example, golf fitness flexibility exercises will attempt to improve the flexibility within the woman golfer. As the woman golfer improves her flexibility parameters in relation to the golf swing. She may be able to create a bigger shoulder turn, which may increase the distance of her drives.

This benefit is an example of a transfer of training effect onto the golf course. In summary, the three principles that assist in the development of a golf fitness program for women are; sports specific, cross specificity training, and transfer of training effect. Many additional principles exist that are used as guidelines in the development of a golf fitness program, but these are three essential ones.

Outside of the guidelines governing the development of a golf fitness program for woman. Specific physical components within the body are needed within the body to execute the golf swing correctly. Remember, it is the body performing the biomechanics of the golf swing.

In order for the golf swing to be executed correctly and efficiently certain levels of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power are required. These are the actual physical components within the woman golfer a golf specific fitness program looks to develop and enhance in relation to the golf swing.

The golf swing requires the body to move through a long range of motion for an efficient movement to occur. Much of this is contingent upon the ability of the core to coil and uncoil during the swing. In order for these two biomechanical actions to occur efficiently, the development of proper flexibility in the core is necessary.

We utilize flexibility exercises that are cross-specific to the movements in the golf swing to develop flexibility. The majority of these flexibility exercises are rotational and dynamic.

The golf swing is a dynamic movement, indicating that the body is in constant motion. It is crucial to develop a range of motion for the swing in a dynamic rather than a static (not moving) method. The goal of these exercises is to create a range of motion in the core for the golf swing. Flexibility is the first physical component requiring development within the woman golfer.

One needs to maintain, dynamically, a stable body throughout the entire swing. We have all hit balls at the range and know what happens when we do not stay balanced during the swing.

Improving the balance and stabilization capabilities of the core translates into a better golf swing. Better Balance equals a Better Swing. Even subtle movements are consistency killers; thus we need to develop and maintain balance for a consistent swing.

Balance is connected to the efficiency of the nervous system and strength of the muscular system working together. The development of greater balance in the core and swing is the result of two types of specific exercise. The first challenges the nervous system creating greater efficiency.

The second are exercises that create increased strength in the core. The combination of these two types of exercises permit for the body to maintain posture, promote efficient weight transfer, and create power in the swing. The result is a more consistent, accurate, and powerful swing. This is the second component included with a golf fitness program for women

Remember that the golf swing is a repetitive movement. The mechanics of the swing repeat with each stroke. This process can be repeated hundreds of times in a round of golf Ever go to the range and hit two buckets of balls? At some point the body starts to tire, and shots scatter.

Proper endurance training enables us to repeat a sound swing. We produce this through a series of exercises developing endurance in the entire body. This nets us a consistent swing through eighteen holes. Increasing endurance leads to lower scores. This is the third physical component of the golf fitness program for women.

Club head speed is a function of power. The more power generated by the body, the greater speed at which a club head impacts the ball. More power to the ball equals longer drives. Developing higher levels of power within the muscular system of the body is achieved through the implementation of power exercises. These types of exercise assist in creating higher power outputs of the muscles involved in the golf swing. Power training is the final component found in a golf fitness program for women.

In summary a golf fitness program for the LPGA or amateur woman golfer is relatively the same. Golf fitness exercises for the woman golfer are sports specific. The exercises contained within the golf fitness program are cross-specific to the movements, positions, and requirements of the golf swing. The exercises within a woman’s golf fitness program induce a transfer of training effect onto the golf course.

The golf swing requires certain levels of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power to execute correctly. A golf fitness program for women will look to enhance these physical components of the body. The end result is an improved golf swing equating to lower scores and more enjoyment on the golf course.

If you’ve been thinking about taking up golf, or if you’re a golfer in search of a better game, you may have considered golf lessons. But are golf lessons really beneficial? And how do you find a pro who will offer good advice?

There are some who swear that lessons are vital and others who say that practice is the only thing that will improve your golf game. The truth seems to lie somewhere in the middle. But before you drop your coach or sign up for lessons, consider what it is that you hope golf lessons will accomplish. Outlining your goals may help you decide whether you truly need lessons or simply more time on the course.

If you play with others who play exceptionally well, you may want to find someone to give you some help with your game. Whether thats a paid coach or merely a friend who plays well is strictly a personal choice. Getting some pointers and tips may be a good way to ensure that you don’t totally embarrass yourself in front of other players.

If you’re serious about the game, you’ve probably been involved long enough that you don’t need advice on whether to get a coach. But if youve only recently discovered the joy of golfing, you may find yourself looking for a way to improve your game. Golf lessons could very well be the answer.

Some people say that lessons give them a set time to practice and an opportunity to completely focus on the game. You’ll typically be less interrupted than if you were playing on your own, stopping to chat with friends along the way. But others say the simple fact of having someone scrutinizing every move and offering constant advice is more distracting than helpful. Decide whether you’re one of those who accept direction and works well in that situation. That’s a major clue as to whether golf lessons are a good idea.

Remember that a golf coach’s job is to teach you to golf correctly. That means that there are some habits that he (or she) will be trying to ingrain and others they’ll be trying to break. While golfing correctly is a terrific goal, many golfers have some bad habits that they tout as benefiting their game. Changing your grip, adjusting your stance or even using different equipment may be among the “must do” list from your coach. You may resist those changes. You have two options. You can do your best to follow the instructions, or you can explain that you aren’t planning to change that particular habit. If you don’t plan to change, you may need to reexamine your decision to take lessons. Without following directions, lessons may become a waste of time and effort on both parts, and money on yours.

Golf lessons are great for some people. It’s a personal decision whether you are one of those who will benefit from a coach formal or informal. But remember that the most important thing to improve your golf game is simply practice.

They are perfect marketing tools that you can make full use of to promote your business or to enhance customer experience. Beyond their practical benefits, umbrellas offer countless imprint possibilities: the handle, sleeve, and both sides of the canopy can be customized with your corporate logo or any colorful pattern.

One of the many ways you can improve your customer service is to make sure promotional umbrellas are on standby when a client is in need of one. Take your valet service a notch higher by making sure attendants have promotional umbrellas on hand when a guest alights from his vehicle under pouring rain or the unbearable heat of the sun. Not only will attendants get an extra tip for this service, it will also leave a good impression with clients, because a company that painstakingly takes note of small details such as providing an umbrella when there is a need for one must take customer service seriously.

Hotels, resorts, inns, and bed-and-breakfasts will find that having promotional umbrellas on standby is beneficial to their business. Nobody wants to come up empty-handed when a hotel guest requests for an umbrella at the reception. Place umbrellas in conspicuous places such as the hotel lobby or at the entrance so guests have them within easy reach when the need arises. Similarly, housekeeping should make it a custom to leave promotional folding umbrellas in bedside drawers or hanging inside the bedroom closet so guests can take one with them when they are out.

Golf clubs should also equip their caddies with promotional umbrellas so that when the heat becomes unbearable or the rain starts to pour, an umbrella is within easy reach. Real estate companies will also find promotional umbrellas as fitting giveaways to prospects and clients during site visits. By imprinting their name and contact number on visible spots on these promotional items, real estate agents will be assured that prospects can contact them right away when they have finally decided to make a purchase.

Golf fitness exercises focused on the core can improve your golf swing. Learn how core exercises and golf exercises are a key to increasing club head speed. Some of us may have an idea about what core training entails. Swing coaches and golf fitness trainers talk about it in relation to the swing, but what actually is the core?

When the question is asked, What is the core? The most common answer is, your abdominals. The core can be defined as the region of the body that incorporates the hips, abdominals, obliques, and lower back.

The definition of the core indicates that it is an anatomical region of the body. The top of your chest to your hips is the easiest way to think about the core region. This part of the body includes numerous muscles in each of these defined regions. Think about all those little back muscles that your doctor speaks about when you are injured. Those muscles are part of the core.

When you see those infomercials for the abdominal machines, those machines are supposedly going to give you that six pack. The muscles of the six pack are part of your core. These two regions of the body are the easy parts of the core to understand, but what about the other parts?

The general definition of the core indicates that it encompasses all the muscles between your chest and lower body. Keeping this definition in mind, what other muscles would be incorporated in the core region? Probably the easiest way to do this is to create a mental image of the body and then look at what muscles are in this region of the body.

The hips are part of the core, and all the muscles in this region of the body are part of the core. The muscles within the hips contain the hip flexors, hip extensors, adductor complex, abductor complex, gluteus maximus, gluteus minimus, gluteus medius, origin of the hamstrings, and origin of the quads.

Currently, we have the muscles of the hips, low back, and the abdominals, but there are more. We can essentially factor two more muscle groups into the core region. Probably the most under recognized muscles in the core region are termed the deep stabilizing muscles of the spine.

The easiest way to think of these muscles is the following: Think about peeling away the top layer of your abdominals (the six pack) and the top layer of your lower back muscles. Underneath these muscles would be another group of muscles that function to stabilize the spine.

The number of muscles in this region of the body is numerous. The names of a few are: transverse abdominus, erector spinae, and spinaleus. Again, these are just a few of the muscles in this region. If we were to name all of them, it could easily fill this whole page.

We have one final group of muscles that comprise the core region, and they are on the sides of the body. You now know where these muscles are, and we anatomically describe these muscles as your obliques. The two major muscles in this region are the external and internal obliques. In addition, you will find other muscles within this region such as the serratus.

At this point you should have a good understanding of the core region, the muscles groups of the core, and the specific muscles contained within this region. Now we move on to the functioning of the core in regards to golf.

First question, why are these muscles so important to golf? Before we answer that question, let’s look at this region of the body in a little more detail.

A vast number of muscles comprise this region of the body as we know at this point in time. Some of you probably have some first hand experience with the muscles of the core. If you have ever had a lower back injury, you know what I am talking about.

What we need to understand at this point, before entertaining the question of the core’s involvement in the golf swing, is the following:

Realize that all of the core muscles function as a unit, meaning they work together to essentially stabilize and move the body. The movements that this region of the body is involved in are vast. Any movement other than probably lying on your back utilizes the core the cores in some way, shape, or form. Let me explain this thought. We know that the core region is involved in stabilizing the spine, right?

Well with that thought in mind, your spine needs to be stabilized in any upright posture you place your body. For example, as I am writing this article, I am sitting at my computer. For my body to maintain this “seated, upright position” my spine must be stabilized. The muscles of the core region perform this activity.

When we begin to talk about the body moving is where we can really see the core becoming active. Just think of some simple activities like walking, bending over to pick up a newspaper, etc. All of these activities are utilizing the core to stabilize the spine, bend, turn, rotate the body, and transfer energy from your feet to the upper body.

The core is integrated as a unit and involved in almost every movement that you perform in your daily lives. I hope by this time you can see the importance of the core when it comes to human movement. Now let us move on to a topic of more interest to all of us, and that is the golf swing.

Looking at the golf swing, the core region of the body is considered the engine of the body. It is responsible for the balance, stability, and rotation required to swing a golf club. From address to follow through, this section of the body plays a large part in the execution of the swing.

If you have an understanding of what muscles comprise the core region and their importance when it comes to human movement, then you will undoubtedly see the importance of the core as it pertains to the golf swing.

This little discussion has probably provided you with the understanding that there is more than meets the eye when discussing the core region. The next step in this process is the implementation of core exercises within a golf fitness program. These types of golf exercises will benefit your golf swing in many ways.

Is your brother, husband or best friend an avid golfer, someone who eats breathes and sleeps one of the most challenging sports in the world? Many golfers already have all of the necessary equipment to actively participate in their favorite weekend activity, many already have memberships to golf courses or county clubs - so what do you get for the golfer in your life that seems to have everything imaginable when it comes to golf. One thing you may not have considered is a tabletop golf game.

What makes Tabletop Golf such a great game?

It is just like playing the back nine, in your front room.

Many people think that getting out into the fresh air and the elements is one of the greatest things about golf, and that opinion is very true but what an avid golfer also loves about this past time is the incredible challenge that comes with playing.

Many golfers will not hesitate to brave the rain to play a round, but things like snow, sleet, hail, driving winds and tropical storm conditions can put a very fast halt to golf outing. Well tabletop golf brings the same level of challenge that an avid golfer would experience out on the course, but conveniently packed into an area smaller than the size of an average dining room table.

With tabletop golf, the weather outside means nothing to the game. The golfer in your life can enjoy the challenge of playing nine holes without ever lacing up his or her cleats. Your favorite golfer will get to implement the same strategies he or she would have out on the golf course without worrying about the weather outside. Tabletop golf is an absolute must for the golfer who lives in areas where the climate can get less than favorable.

Playing rounds every weekend can get expensive. Make no mistake about it, golf is an expensive hobby. The clubs are expensive, the shoes are expensive and getting out on the course to play, especially at a higher echelon course can be very expensive.

Tabletop golf is a very inexpensive way to let the golfer in your life experience the feel of playing without actually going out and spending the money on a round. In most cases a tabletop version of golf could cost less than a single round at a top level course, and the tabletop version can be enjoyed over and over after that initial investment has been made.

If there is a golfer in your life that is in need of a gift, but seems to have everything - tabletop golf could be just the thing that you are looking for in a gift that they will enjoy as much as their favorite pastime.
